Same problem with my Ubuntu.

After I installed sun-java6-jre, again no change.

Finally, the solution is to download the latest .jar file of Jabref from jabref.sourceforge.net and modify the applications-menu entry:
Instead of "jabref %f", the command has to be replaced with something like "java -jar /path/to/file/JabRef-2.4.jar"
This should solve the messed-up gui issue.

Additionally, if you want to have the GTK Look&Feel instead of the standard java Look&Feel (to avoid eye cancer ;-)), go to Options->Preferences->Advanced and specify "com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeel"
as class name.

This way, JabRef looks much better. :-)

Best regards,
Karli

Hi, thanks for the note, glad to be of help!

No, I didn't have the time to look closer into the PATH. It should be easy (without renaming) to fix by not having /usr/local in the PATH of root, however, that is also not necessarily smart.

The real fix would imho be to have the backend of the package managment in /sbin and calling it explicitly from there...

Have you tried it with the Ibex already? Maybe it got changed there. It is still on my agenda to play around with that, but at the moment I need a working system :)

Thanks for that information. I have the same problem and I solved it by following your suggestion of renaming install-info in /usr/local/bin.

But that cannot be the 'real' solution. Have you found something more reliable by now?
And now another interesting question..
We have only one type of busses available and we have 210 of those busses which all need to be replace with a new version of themselves... (since they are too old).

Now openTTD will not allow you to replace it with the same type of bus!!!
