Thud!

I still need to figure out which kind of tree it actually is, haven't looked to closely yet. It (currently) has green leaves, it has a trunk, it has branches, hence it is tree. But now is the time to investigate more thoroughly. Is it an oak, a beech, a birch (witches are standing there), a lime or something else? Questions that seek answers.

Now, I will have to conduct more stringent observations tomorrow, especially of the leaves, but a first assessment can be made:

Observation one: I haven't seen witches yet and the trunk is not white. That leads to the preliminary conclusion one: It is not a birch. Observation two: The shape of the nuts does not resemble beechnuts. Hence preliminary conclusion two: It is not a beech. Observation three: The shape of the nuts reminds me of acorns. So Hypothesis one: It might be an oak.
