Phew, again quite some time passed without updates here, but in my defense: First, there is a lot of stuff to work on at the moment, and, second, I have been away on holidays last week. A couple of days just with some books (paper and audio), enjoying doing nothing. Of course when I came back on Saturday I had to pace up a bit on the work that was left. Anyhow, by now I finally managed to catch up on most things. In between waiting for debugging runs to finish (more on that later), I finally figured out how to use Audioscrobbler with my
media player:
mpdscribble. It was not very challenging to set that up and to
sign in with
last.fm. Not that I am entirely sure what this is supposed to be good for, but for the moment it does at least look cool and I can use a new sidebar plug-in for S9Y: The last three songs I listened to are now displayed in the 'Last played' box to the right.
Also a few tiny things in the structure of the sidebars changed: The 'Letzte Google Suche'-thingie is new and is supposed to show the last Google queries that lead people to this
cough, cough marvelous realm. But I somehow have the impression that it is not exactly working yet, at least it doesn't seem to update the queries. I have to look into that.
My browser received an upgrade, I am now surfing around with Firefox 2; not really much of a difference, what – thinking about it – probably is a good thing. But I gave up on compiling it myself. Not that it is terribly difficult, it just takes so long. Seems like I am slowly getting back to point of using a precompiled distribution again. Well, well, we'll see about that.
And finally, last but not least: Robert now also has
his corner in the Blogosphere! Welcome!
