Same problem with my Ubuntu.
After I installed sun-java6-jre, again no change. Finally, the solution is to download the latest .jar file of Jabref from jabref.sourceforge.net and modify the applications-menu entry: Instead of "jabref %f", the command has to be replaced with something like "java -jar /path/to/file/JabRef-2.4.jar" This should solve the messed-up gui issue. Additionally, if you want to have the GTK Look&Feel instead of the standard java Look&Feel (to avoid eye cancer ;-)), go to Options->Preferences->Advanced and specify "com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeel" as class name. This way, JabRef looks much better. :-) Best regards, Karli |
